For insurance companies and jurors, orthopedic doctors tend to be the gold standard for diagnosing pains, aches, issues with muscles and bones and other problems that people experience following car accidents. That’s because orthopedic doctors undergo more training than a chiropractic doctor or other specialty regarding areas of the body that are commonly injured during car accidents. They also tend to have more training and interpreting diagnostic imaging like MRI’s in a clinical setting in conjunction with a patient’s physical examination and their complaints of pain. Most of the cases I handle have an orthopedic doctor as an expert, even if there’s been chiropractic treatment.
